A Letter from the Pastor

Dear Friends,

I am daily reminded of the wonderful way that God brought us together to serve Christ in Goldfield. It is an honor and privilege to serve God with you. I am excited to see God continue to work through our church members as we live out our mission to be “a church for the community.”

These days, some people do not prioritize Sunday morning worship like they used to; whether it is because they did not grow up going to church, want to sleep in, or do not find it relevant to their life. We have a mighty task of showing people, with our words and actions, that God is relevant to their life, that church can be a joyful morning of worship and fellowship, and that God has amazing plans for their life. We must think of new ways to reach out to our neighbors and invite them to embark on a journey of Christian discipleship with us.

Our challenge as “a church for the community” is to meet people’s physical, emotional and spiritual needs. This means not just declaring the good news of Jesus Christ but also showing God’s love in tangible ways.

It is important that we continue to help our church family to deepen their personal relationships with God as well, so that we may become strong disciples of Christ who live a life deeply connected to God each and every day.

I invite you to read more about the life and ministry at United Presbyterian Church here on our website. We would love to have you worship with us on Sunday mornings. May God bless you richly as we are knit together as the body of Christ.

Joy,

Sara Hill

Pastor
